The nose is fruity, revealing ripe fruit and a fine peppery edge. There are notes of ripe blackberry, grey pepper and, to a lesser extent, crisp raspberry, combined with hints of peony, lily and subtle spice. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, freshness, minerality, some volume, some roundness and smoothness. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, raspberry and more slightly violet notes combined with delicate touches of wild red berries, pepper, a subtle hint of peony, iodine. Good length. The tannins are precise, finely mellow.
