The nose is elegant, racy and offers nice fruit, power and depth. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of fleshy wild blackcurrant, pepper and a hint of star anise combined with hints of morello cherry, wild strawberry, black plum, graphite and a hint of lily and mocha. The palate is fruity, fresh and offers minerality, concentration, fine creaminess, good definition, accuracy, tension and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses crunchy wild blackcurrant, morello cherry and slightly crunchy raspberry notes with a touch of juicy/fresh red berries, fine purple plum, racy minerality, violet and a subtle hint of vanilla, mocha and clove (in the background). The tannins are powerful, racy and controlled. Nice persistence and nice work on the bitter taste.
