The nose is fruity and offers a certain gourmandise and purity of fruit. There are notes of cherry, blueberry and, to a lesser extent, violet, combined with hints of tart raspberry, as well as fine hints of liquorice, a subtle hint of vanilla flowers and an imperceptible touch of pepper. The palate is fruity and offers elegance, juiciness, fatness, a nice acidic structure, good definition and a nice pulpy/acidic/juicy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses crunchy cherry and redcurrant fruit with hints of crisp raspberry, juicy/acidic blackcurrant, liquorice, blueberry, a hint of tobacco, cardamom and a subtle touch of clove and chocolate. The tannins are well-managed, racy and discreetly mellow. A very discreet hint of varietal flavours in the background.
