On the nose, aromatic, fruity, elegant, complex, offering a nice depth, richness (with finesse), potency (with mastery/richness), a certain delicacy in its power and a nice definition. Notes of blackberry, violet and more slightly camphor, toast, roasting associated with touches of crushed currant, cardamom, blue berries, fine points of cherry blossom, rose, discrete points of aromatic herbs, tea and pepper. The palate is fruity, offering juiciness, freshness, a nice minerality, richness (in control), darkness (but in control), power (in subtlety), a compact/rich/justly dosed side. On the palate, expressing notes of crushed blackberry, pulpy/juicy strawberry and more slightly crushed small red berries associated with touches of black plum, morello cherry, violet as well as fine points of camphor, torrefaction, star anise, discrete points of blueberry, bourbon vanilla bean, a subtle hint of tea, black olive and an imperceptible touch of pepper. The tannins are elegant and smooth.
