Château Talbot 2024 – Saint-Julien, Cru Classé

Château Talbot 2024 – Saint-Julien, Cru Classé

The nose is well-built, frank, racy, precise, stretched and offers straightness with finesse. There are notes of fresh wild cassis, wild strawberry and small notes of cornflower, associated with lovely touches of infusion (freshness), as well as hints of Bigarreau cherry, small red fruits (flirting with roasted-fresh), a hint of violet, a discreet hint of cinnamon, toasted almond and Cubèbe pepper. Deep and density in the aromatic. The palate is well-built and offers freshness, minerality, a fresh frame, a little coating fat, good energy, acidity, brilliance, good breed and aromatic depth. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of brilliant cassis, pulpy/brilliant cherry and juicy/fresh blackberry, combined with touches of racy/iodized minerality (even a discreet oceanic character), floral hints (cornflower, lilac…) as well as subtle hints of star anise, almost aniseed and almost fresh mandarin in the background. Elegant, chalky tannins. Good length. Elegant darkness.
