The nose is discreetly tight and offers concentration, fine grain and elegance. There are notes of wild blackberry, violet and, more slightly, wild strawberry combined with touches of crushed berries as well as fine hints of star anise, cardamom and a very discreet hint of bourbon vanilla pod. The palate is fruity and reveals minerality, juiciness, gourmandize, acidity and good definition. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, raspberry and more slightly blueberry notes combined with hints of violet, pulpy/fresh red berries as well as fine nuances of racy minerality, a subtle hint of camphor, star anise and a very discreet hint of toasted almond. The tannins are precise, mellow and elegant. A pretty, elegant and suave finish. A little chewiness on the finish.
