Château Simian – Les Grandes Grenachières d’Hippolyte 2016 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

It reveals notes of creamy cassis, wild blackberry, small notes of small wild berries associated with small touches of violet, lilac as well as hint of wild blueberry, garrigue, a very discreet hint of liquorice stick and an imperceptible hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, elegant, gourmand and offers freshness, a beautiful definition, minerality, a small creaminess as well as sapidity and roundness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy cherry, creamy blackberry, small notes of creamy blueberry, small creamy red berries associated with touches of crushed wild raspberry, strawberry flowers, chocolate, liquorice stick as well as fine hints of black olive, vanilla, saffron and camphor. Notes of chocolate and toasted almond on the persistence.
