The nose is liquorice, racy and offers a nice finesse of grain as well as some power. There are notes of crushed blackcurrant, blueberry and, to a lesser extent, fleshy Gariguette strawberry, combined with hints of liquorice and fine zan. The palate is fruity, mineral, balanced, fresh and offers a juicy/acidic structure, good definition, some tension, precision and clarity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed/creamy blackcurrant, pulpy blackberry and more slightly pulpy raspberry combined with hints of chocolate, violet, fine caramelisation as well as fine toastiness and a subtle hint of torrefaction.
