Château Sainte Croix – Le Patriarche 2021 – Côtes de Provence

Syrah 40%, Cabernet 20%, Grenache 20%, Carignan 20%

The wine shows a medium ruby colour with a purple tinge. The nose is intense and fruity, opening up with nuances of black currant, black current jam and crème de cassis, complicated by notes of rose oil and candied violets. The palate is opulent and rich, with bold, grippy tannins, good fruit concentration but somewhat loose texture on the mid-palate. The wine offers nuances of blackberries and black currants, hints of chocolate, a touch of liquorice and sweet spices. Powerful wine with good ageing potential.
