The nose is nicely developed and benefits from being decanted. It reveals an elegant and racy grain with a spicy side and a beautiful shine. We find notes of bright blackcurrant, small elegant/Mediterranean roasted fruits and small notes, crushed fresh fruits, associated with touches of cubeb pepper, aromatic herbs, as well as a hint of nutmeg, a very subtle floral nuance and a discreet saline note. The palate is also nicely structured, supple, mineral, and well balanced. It offers a tangy frame, accuracy, tension, precision and a nice tangy side as well as mellowness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackcurrant, small bright fruits and, small notes, juicy and tangy bigarreau cherry, associated with touches of cornflower, star anise, infusion, as well as fine smoky hints, toasted, and a subtle nuance of roasted almond. In the background, we perceive a discreet hint of graphene and aromatic herbs. Tannins are mellow and elegant, and we appreciate a nice play on the subtle bitterness on the finish. Supple and elegant.
