The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses notes of fresh fruit (blueberry, blackcurrant, morello cherry, raspberry, red cherry), associated with savoury spicy touches (liquorice with a hint of star anise, ground cumin, nutmeg), and a delicate floral bouquet (violet, iris, lilac) and a hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut). The palate is silky, velvety, fruity. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, red chocolate cherry, ripe black plum (even prunes in chocolate), wild strawberry and crushed blueberry, combined with spicy notes (vanilla, ground cumin, licorice, a hint nutmeg), and dark chocolate, violet and iris, as well as a touch of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, coffee with milk). The tannins are supple and soft. The finish is full, delicious and textured with a powdery touch of cocoa. Beautiful salivating acidity, good persistence with notes of torrefaction and sweet spices.
