Château Saint-Ahon 2019 – Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois

Château Saint-Ahon 2019 – Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois

The nose is fruity, tense and offers a certain racy power as well as a slightly tight grain. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of crunchy wild blackcurrant, Cuben pepper and more slightly ripe/pulpy red berry fruit combined with fine touches of blueberry, violet and hints of sweet spice. The palate is nicely juicy, racy and offers a nice freshness, minerality, roundness, fatness and an acidic frame. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy boysenberry, crunchy raspberry and slightly crushed blackcurrant notes combined with hints of fleshy/fresh cherry, lily, racy minerality as well as fine toasted notes and a subtle hint of hazelnut. The tannins are mellow.
