Château Saincrit – Fougue 2019 – Bordeaux Supérieur

Château Saincrit – Fougue 2019 – Bordeaux Supérieur

The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of boysenberry, cooked blackcurrant and, more slightly, ripe red berries combined with fine touches of liquorice and a discreet hint of blond tobacco and a subtle touch of clove. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, a certain gourmandise, crunchiness, richness of fruit, a certain straightness as well as a finely tightened tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crisp Morello cherry, bright blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, fairly ripe raspberry, combined with fine touches of lily, nutmeg, fine hints of star anise and a subtle hint of chocolate and toasted/caramelised flavours. The tannins are discreetly marked. Good length.
