Château Roc de Montpezat – Cuvée des 9 2022 – Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux

The nose is spicy, elegant, precise, chiseled, with a certain intensity. It reveals notes of wild strawberries, small, ripe wild red berries, as well as a lighter touch of green pepper. These aromas are associated with touches of nutmeg, a hint of clove and some discreet smoky notes, with almost imperceptible notes of citrus and heat in the background. The palate is nicely structured, supple, airy, elegant and racy, with an acidic structure which stretches, offering beautiful rightness, an airy side and tension. We find notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, crushed redcurrant, as well as small bright red berries, associated with touches of violet, spices, cloves, a subtle almost hint of Espelette pepper and fine hints of tonka. Good length. Nice freshness and minerality.
