Château Roc de Candale 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers concentration/a small richness, a fine grain as well as a small intensity. It reveals notes of ripe blackberry, ripe/fresh cassis and small notes of fresh/crunchy small red fruits associated with fine touches of flowers, toasted, discreet hints of Sichuan pepper as well as a very discreet hint of nutmeg and hazelnut. The palate is fruity, fresh, racy, well-balanced and offers a mineral frame, freshness, a beautiful finesse of the grain, tension, richness, fullness, suavity, a small gourmandize, elegance as well as a beautiful definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, fleshy/juicy blackberry and small notes of fleshy/juicy raspberry associated with fine touches of cornflower, liquorice as well as subtle hints of cardamom, Ceylan tea and spices. Tannins are well-built. An elegant wine ! A beautiful gourmande persistence giving a subtle hint of toasted almond and caramelized hazelnut.
