The nose is currently a little tight. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are hints of grey pepper, cinnamon and more slightly wild blackberry combined with hints of wild berries, lily and a touch of liquorice and a very discreet almost herbal touch. The palate is fruity and offers some concentration, a discreetly tight tannic structure and minerality/mineral streak. On the palate this wine expresses notes of liquorice/star anise, bright blackcurrant and more slightly blue berry combined with hints of juicy/pulpy black cherry as well as fine clove, black tea and a touch of vanilla/sweet spice. The tannins are well-managed. A wine that in some ways flirts with over-ripeness.
