Château Rauzan-Gassies 2021 – Margaux 2ème Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant and reveals delicacy, finesse, fleshiness and complexity. There are notes of creamy blackberry, creamy strawberry and more lightly crushed blackcurrant combined with hints of violet, lily, racy minerality as well as fine hints of camphor, chocolate, fine hints of bourbon vanilla and crushed cherry. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, freshness, good definition, gourmandize, a nice minerality, and an airiness in its creaminess. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fresh/pulpy blackberry, raspberry and, more slightly, fresh/creamy cherry combined with touches of fresh berries, graphite, racy minerality, a subtle hint of sweet blond tobacco, toasted hazelnut, and a subtle touch of bourbon vanilla. The tannins are smooth and well managed. Fine hints of violets, fresh/pulpy berries on the finish. A subtle hint of dried almond on the aftertaste.
