Château Pontet-Canet 2023 – Pauillac Cru Classé

A lovely fruity nose, elegant, silky, delicate and offers a lovely freshness, a lovely complexity, depth, finesse, delicacy, (iron fist in a velvet glove). It expresses notes of pulpy Boysenberry, bright blackcurrant and more lightly – bright raspberry associated with lovely floral hints, almost wisteria and has discreet hints of roasted-fresh fruit, a sappy hint, spices, nutmeg, infusion and an imperceptible hint of incense. The palate is beautifully juicy, fresh, elegant, gourmand, delicate, supple, suave, beautifully textured and mineral and offers a lovely balance, notes of bright blackberry, juicy roasted strawberry and more lightly – fleshy purple plum, associated with touches of salinity/iodine and fine hints of graphite, smoke and a subtle hint of vanilla, small black berries, roasted raspberry associated with touches of graphite, cardamom as well as a hint of toast, substance but all in finesse/accuracy, a tangy frame, a fine sappy side. Good length and definition. The tannins are sapid, supple, soft, gourmand and fresh. A discreet iodized/saline side. Purity and gourmandise. Very nice freshness and brilliance of the fruit. Nice softness in the mouth
