Château Pontet-Canet 2018 – Pauillac Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, aromatic, gourmand, elegant, racy and offers a fine power as well as a small incisive side. It reveals notes of cassis, fleshy boysenberry and more slightly strawberry, small wild red fruits associated with a hint of flowers (iris, lilac, cornflower), fine touches of liquorice, sweet spices, toasted as well as a very discreet hint of spices and gray pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy, fresh, elegant, gourmand, racy and offers a very beautiful definition/precision as well as a beautiful juicy fruit and a beautiful material. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, blackberry and more slightly black cherry, juicy/ripe redcurrant, fleshy strawberry associated with touches of liquorice, cornflower/lily, fine touches of liquorice, camphor, chocolate powder as well as very discreet hints of lilac, sweet spices and toasted/toasted nut. The finish is powdered, gourmand, suave.
