Château Pontet Bayard 2022 – Puisseguin Saint Emilion

The nose is aromatic, spicy and woody. It first expresses notes of vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, nuts and cloves. Then, we find the aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant and black plum, as well as light herbaceous and floral touches (dried mint, thyme, violet, rose). On the palate, the attack is tight, with a firm tannic structure and astringency. In the mid-palate, we find certain juiciness and fruity notes of strawberry, fresh raspberry, blackcurrant, red plum, morello cherry and bigarreau cherry, accompanied by a slight bitterness of cranberries and a fresh note of mint. The finish is also tight, balanced by a salivating acidity, but closed in terms of aromatic expression.
