Château Pontet Barrail 2024 – Médoc

The nose is concentrated, fruity (morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, black plum), with a sweet floral hint (iris, peony, violet), chocolate, toasted hazelnut in the background, licorice, vanilla, sweet wild mint. The palate is juicy, fresh (blackcurrant, morello cherry, bigarreau, raspberry), with a touch of expressive violet in the mid-palate, complemented by liquorice, bitterness of chocolate, vanilla in the background, a smoky and toasted hint, as well as dried mint. Beautiful gourmet length, with complexity and a good bitterness of coffee and cocoa, notes of black fruits, a salivating acidity and tight, but not dry, tannins.
