Château Pontet Barrail 2019 – Médoc Cru Bourgeois

Château Pontet Barrail 2019 – Médoc Cru Bourgeois

The nose is fruity and offers some depth, fine concentration and a fine darkness. There are notes of crushed blackcurrant, dense black berries and a hint of zan, combined with a touch of violet, ripe wild strawberry, fine cardamom and discreet hints of saltiness and Cuban pepper. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, smoothness, accuracy, freshness, minerality, good definition, a certain gourmandise and some concentration/intensity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of Morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant and, more slightly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of violet, liquorice, fine notes of fresh lily, as well as subtle hints of liquorice, caramelisation and a touch of toastiness.
