The nose is fresh and sappy, a little minty at first (fresh pine needles, sap, menthol). We then find aromas of liquorice, star anise, white pepper, cardamom, a fine minerality (graphite and dry gravel), notes of toast (coffee, toasted hazelnut), tangy fruits (blackcurrant, red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, cranberry), a hint of violet. The palate is woody and toasted on the attack (fresh wood, pine sap, toasted wood), with notes of liquorice, cardamom, chocolate, coffee, fresh fruits (dominant blackcurrant and morello cherry, red cherry, raspberry, redcurrant, cranberry), dried mint, graphite and gravel on the persistence. The finish is elegant, chocolatey, with a beautiful salivating acidity of tangy fruits (blackcurrant, bigarreau cherry). The tannins are powerful, enveloping, and not dry. They have a beautiful structure and a fresh texture.
