Château Pierhem 2016 – Pomerol

Château Pierhem 2016 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant and offers a slight concentration. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, strawberry and slight notes of fleshy/ripe wild strawberry associated with slight hints of coffee, dark chocolate as well as discreet hints of toasted oak and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, gourmand and offers a slight suavity, tension, a slight concentration as well as a silky, beautiful and tight matter. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh/ripe blackberry, fresh/ripe cassis and wild strawberry associated with discreet hints of flowers (cornflower…), cacao, coffee as well as slight oaky notes. Tannins are fine and slightly dry/firm. Good length and persistence. On the finish/persistence there is a very discreet hint of salinity on the finish. The finish/persistence is quite gourmande.
