Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2008 – Pauillac – Grand Cru Classé

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2008 – Pauillac – Grand Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic, concentrated, intense and nicely elegant. It reveals notes of blackberry, flowers (lilac, violet), cassis and slight notes of small wild fruits associated with discreet hints of toasted oak, Sichuan pepper (very discreet) and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, sleek, well-balanced, aerial, suave and offers an acid frame, a slight juiciness, a beautiful finesse as well as a beautiful roundness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, juicy cassis and slight notes of black cherry associated with hints of crushed strawberry, raspberry, discreet hints of caramelized oak, dark chocolate as well as a discreet hint of cardamom, sweet spices and a very discreet hints of Bourbon vanilla. Tannins are fine, elegant and structuring. A great wine! Good persistence!
