The wine benefits from being decanted. The nose offers concentration, power, fine grain and elegance. There are notes of wild black cherry, blackcurrant and, more slightly, grey pepper combined with hints of violet and fine hints of liquorice, black tea and racy minerality (almost discreetly iodised). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise and long, with minerality, freshness, good definition, fatness, fine straightness and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses pulpy/juicy blackberry, crunchy blackcurrant and slightly pulpy/juicy black cherry with hints of violet, red berries and fine liquorice, racy/gravelly minerality and a touch of black tea. Good length. The tannins are precise and relatively soft. There is a fine saline/iodine edge and positive bitterness in the background.
