Château Petit Village 2023 – Pomerol

(AB) Lovely fruity nose, creamy, precise and which offers a lovely precise, taut and airy grain. A lovely textured side. We find notes of boysenberry, bright cassis and small notes of bright blue plum associated with touches of bright raspberry, hints of graphite as well as a subtle hint of almost sweet spices and a subtle hint of chocolate. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, juicy, balanced and offers an acidulous frame, tension, a lovely stretched side, a lovely definition/expression as well as a lovely textured and silky. A three-dimensional side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, creamy/fresh cassis and small notes of blueberry associated with touches of juicy/bright cherry, hints of blueberry, violet as well as a subtle hint of star anise and discreet hints of fresh hazelnut. The tannins are creamy and elegant. Good length. A very discreet mineral/fresh bass note in the background. Nice persistence.
