Château Pavie Macquin 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Château Pavie Macquin 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers a slight gourmandise/richness as well as a fine concentration. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, flowers (violet, hint of iris), black cherry and a discreet touch of racy minerality (limestone/terroir) associated with slight hints of toasted oak, a very discreet hint of pepper as well as an imperceptible hint of coffee and spices. The palate is fruity, juicy, beautifully delicate/silky, precise, slightly tight, full of elegance and offers a beautiful definition, a slight tension, precision, gourmandise as well as a nice “guideline”. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh/ripe blackberry, fresh/ripe strawberry and hints of cassis associated with slight notes of chocolate, oak and sweet spices. Tannins are fine, ripe and well-built. Good length and good persistence. A beautiful wine!
