Château Pavie Decesse 2010 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is powerful, aromatic, racy and offers complexity, deepness and a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of quite ripe cassis, small quite ripe black berries, small notes of violet associated with touches of violet plum, camphor as well as hints of Sichuan pepper, spices, cardamom, cocoa/cocoa bog and an imperceptible hint of cypress. The palate is fruity, beautifully racy/fresh and offers tension, a fine carved side, a beautiful bright fruit as well as deepness, a beautiful power and a beautiful juiciness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright/juicy cassis, juicy blackberry, small notes of bright raspberry associated with touches of plum, graphite, dark chocolate/tonka bean, sweet spices, cardamom as well as a very discreet hint of chocolate truffle and crushed hazelnut. Tannins are elegant, racy and silky. Sapidity, gourmandize on the finish/persistence. A beautiful persistence.
