The nose is elegant, delicate and powerful at the same time. Tension. We find notes of boysenberry, violet and zan/star anise associated with touches of small, quite ripe red fruits, fine hints of nutmeg, a discreet hint of cinnamon and a subtle hint of cubeb pepper. A hint of almost oriental spices in the background. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh, elegant and gourmand offering tension, precision, a lovely fatness and freshness, a subtle hint of sappy, as well as a linear, restrained side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of boysenberry, small fresh/crisp red berries and more lightly, fresh violet, fresh lily, as well as fine hints of sweet spices, tobacco, a hint of graphene and black chocolate (in the background). Tannins are mellow and gourmand. Fresh, fat, dense, fleshy and gourmandise.
