Château Ollieux Romanis – Alba 2017 – Corbières

The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers intensity, power as well as concentration. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, small ripe wild black berries, small notes of crushed black plum associated with fine touches of crushed raspberry, zan, black olive, sense of the place (terroir, biotope) as wel as fine hints of vanilla pod and a very discreet hint of Timut pepper. The palate is elegant, gourmand, full of precision and offers suavity, gourmandize, a fine richness, a small concentration, juiciness as well as sincerity, gourmandize, a beautiful balance and a small stretchy side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, small fleshy wild black fruits, small notes of crushed bigarreau cherry associated with small touches of small fleshy blue fruits, liquorice stick, black olive, laurel berries, chocolate as well as an imperceptible hint of rosemary (in the background). Good length. A very fine hint of camphor/mocha on the persistence. Very fine hints of mild tobacco on the finish.
