The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is gourmand and savoury, with an expressive spiciness, but in balance with a juicy fruity substance. It expresses the aromas of liquorice, crushed coriander seeds, nutmeg, cardamom and toasted vanilla, combined with distinct woody notes and touches of torrefaction (ground coffee, toasted hazelnut, heated wood in the background). The fruity aromas are concentrated, even textured, with a slight nuance of roasted fruits: we find in particular the notes of roasted red cherry, fresh morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, fresh red plum, black plum and blackcurrant jam in the background, completed with a herbaceous hint of sweet fresh tobacco, mint, blackcurrant bud, dry pine needles and flowers (cornflower, violet in the background). The palate is silky, with a gourmand and chocolatey attack. It expresses the flavors of chocolate morello cherry, ripe black plum, blackcurrant, roasted red cherry, raspberry jam and juicy red plum, combined with notes of mint chocolate and a hint of torrefaction (toasted wood, toasted hazelnut, coffee), with spiciness, which is especially expressed on the finish (liquorice, cardamom, coriander seed, vanilla) and herbaceous notes (tobacco, pine needles, dried mint). The tannins are fine, but structured. Beautiful acidity and persistence on the gourmandise of cocoa and a savory hint of sweet spices.
