The nose is elegant, mineral, intense, racy, powerful, airy and offers a very discreetly tight, intense and airy grain. We find notes of boysenberry, morello cherry and, more lightly, warm, racy gravel associated with touches of violet, small dense fruits, as well as a hint of graphene, discreet hints of nutmeg, a subtle hint of star anise and almost infusion (in freshness). The palate is well-built, elegant, precise, deep, airy, chiselled and fresh. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, brilliant cassis and more lightly elegant-roasted raspberry, morello cherry combined with hints of elegant-roasted fruit as well as subtle hints of licorice stick, tonka bean/chocolate and tobacco. The tannins are mellow, elegant and silky. Good length. A nicely chiseled, mellow, deep, gourmand wine that is perfectly balanced and meticulous. Superb persistence.
