Château Monlot 2024 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose presents fruit, a certain aromatic concentration, aromatic depth, a certain gourmandise and mellowness. It reveals notes of ripe wild cassis, small, fairly ripe wild berries and small notes of maceron, associated with touches of violet, small, fairly ripe red berries, as well as fine hints of bergamot/infusion and a touch of camphor/incense and toastiness. The palate is nicely fruity, juicy, suave, it offers a mineral frame, good definition, a certain juiciness, suppleness and gourmandise. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, violet and small notes of unctuous cassis, combined with touches of fairly ripe red cherry, as well as a hint of infusion, cranberry, fine hints of maceron, black tea, tonka bean and a subtle touch of star anise. The tannins are precise, frank and mellow. A hint of iodized/sappy in the background. A wine offering freshness, minerality and a certain unctuosity in freshness/minerality. Good persistence.
