The wine has a deep ruby color with slight purple reflections. The nose is fragrant, delicately oaky (especially the first nose) and spicy. It expresses notes of heated wood, toasted almond, coffee, a touch of caramel, as well as a refined spiciness (clove, vanilla, licorice, ground gray pepper, crushed coriander seeds), associated with a fine sweetness of dark chocolate. The fruit aromas are precise, slightly tangy: we find notes of fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, crushed raspberry, morello cherry and wild strawberry, as well as touches of dried mint, rosemary, bay leaf, violet and lilies in the background. On the palate, the wine offers a rich, concentrated and ripe fruity substance, associated in harmony with the power of tannins. It expresses the flavors of fresh wild strawberry and jam, ripe morello cherry, wild blackberry, blackcurrant (with a hint of crème de cassis) and cream of prunes, combined with a gourmand and savoury touch of cocoa, dark chocolate, cloves, licorice, cinnamon (in the background), toasted vanilla, as well as floral notes of dried rose, fresh violet and wildflowers, complemented by a freshness of mint and rosemary. The finish is long and fragrant, with spicy, rich and warming bouquet of wine. Beautiful tannin structure and acidity. A wine to keep, powerful, deep and refined.
