Château Mauvesin Barton 2016 – Moulis-en-Médoc

Château Mauvesin Barton 2016 – Moulis-en-Médoc

The nose is fruity, gourmand and offers a slight freshness, ripe fruits but fresh as well as power (in the background). It reveals notes of ripe Gariguette strawberry and slight notes of ripe/fresh cassis associated with slight notes of ripe raspberry, spices as well as discreet hints of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful tension as well as fat/suavity. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of ripe/fresh strawberry, ripe/fresh raspberry and slight notes of crushed cassis associated with slight hints of toasted oak as well as a very discreet hint of spices. Tannins are very fine. Good length. There is a very discreet toasted hint / sweet spices on the persistence.
