Château Mangot Todeschini – Distique 14, 2021 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity and offers deepness, a multi-layered side as well as delicacy in its power. A beautiful taut, powerful and aerial grain. We find notes of blackberry, Sichuan pepper and small notes of cornflower associated with touches of racy minerality as well as fine hints of star anise, violet as well as very discreet hints of coffee, chocolate and rosemary/sage. The palate is nicely fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers beautiful definition, deepness, harmony, richness as well as a beautiful and fine texture. An aerial side, full of precision and control. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulp blackberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of fresh small blue fruits associated with touches of fresh blue plum as well as hints of star anise and subtle almost iodine/ saline hints. Tannins are a bit mellow. A fine chew. Beautiful sapidity and a discreet sappy hint in the background.
