Château l’Evangile 2022 – Pomerol

Château l’Evangile 2022 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, powdery, with beautiful depth and fine concentration, combining power and subtlety. It shows great mastery. There are notes of boysenberry, small wild blue berries, and more discreetly graphene, associated with touches of elegant/fresh roasted wood. Delicate floral accents of cornflower, sweet spices, a subtle hint of cinnamon, incense, and discreet touches of nutmeg complete the whole. The palate is nicely structured, fruity, fresh, mineral, with tension and suppleness. It offers delicacy, a silky texture and a lace side. The wine has depth and an infused side. We find notes of pulpy blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, and small shiny black berries, associated with touches of roasted raspberry, as well as notes of tonka bean, toasted hazelnut, lily, almost cypress/sapy, cumin and cinnamon. Good length. In the background, a slight touch of anise or fennel is felt. It is mineral, fresh, supple and airy, with a certain density and elegance. This wine, still a a bit tight, will benefit from being decanted. Tannins are mellow. Blend: 80% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
