The nose is spicy, elegant with a nice finesse of the racy grain. We feel precision and a fine aeriness in its richness and density. There are notes of violet, Sichuan pepper and small notes of quite ripe wild black berries associated with touches of graphite, fresh tobacco, saffron flowers, oriental spices as well as discreet hints of toast. The palate is fruity with juiciness and minerality. The tangy frame accompanies the gourmandise and a discreet cedar note in the background. There are notes of fairly ripe small wild black berries, juicy black plums and small notes of raspberries combined with hints of fresh juicy berries as well as hints of graphite, tonka bean and tobacco. There are fine notes of fresh cloves and nutmeg. There is also a subtle hint of cornflower in the background. There is good length and supple tannins that are finely angular with freshness and minerality. Little by little a subtle, almost sappy note appears in the background with star anise, cornflower and always this chalky freshness.
