The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers intensity, power and a fine, intense grain. There are notes of wild blackcurrant, liquorice and, to a lesser extent, boysenberry, combined with hints of zan, cardamom and a subtle, almost bergamot-like touch. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, fleshiness, freshness, good definition, a certain gourmandise and a mineral backbone. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, crushed currant, crushed strawberry and more slightly crunchy black berry notes with hints of liquorice and hints of camphor, cocoa and fine toasted almond. Good length.
