The wine needs to be decanted. The nose is spicy. There are notes of nutmeg, clove and, more slightly, ripe black berries combined with delicate touches of star anise and a discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, racy and offers some fatness, smoothness, accuracy and an acidic frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crunchy blackcurrant and more slightly violet plum combined with hints of pulpy wild red berries as well as hints of clove and a subtle hint of nutmeg/sweet spice. The tannins are supple. There are hints of chocolate on the finish/persistence.
