The nose is spicy and liquorice-like. There are notes of liquorice, crushed blackcurrant and, more slightly, vanillin, combined with hints of crushed redcurrant, as well as hints of black tea and incense. The palate is fruity and shows freshness, minerality, some tension, juiciness as well as a very discreetly tight grain, a relatively marked tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, liquorice and, more slightly, morello cherry, combined with hints of pulpy raspberry, liquorice and fine points of blond tobacco and a subtle hint of toastiness.
