The nose is elegant and offers intensity in finesse, power in finesse, a very nice finesse of grain as well as a little spicy side and a melodious side. We find notes of pulpy Boysenberry, bigarreau cherry and more slightly pulpy blue plum associated with touches of gray pepper, clove as well as a subtle hint of iris/lilac, warm bass and with an almost bergamot hint. The palate is fruity, elegant, balanced, distinguished and offers minerality, accuracy, a mineral frame, good definition, creaminess, fullness, a small dense/concentrated side (but with finesse), a discreet tight side of the grain as well as straightness. Nice freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh raspberry and small notes of small, creamy red fruits associated with a touch of violet plum, hints of lily, chocolate/cardamom as well as a subtle hint of iodine/minerality, with a discreet hint of fresh clove and an imperceptible almost varietal hint in the background. The tannins are supple and elegant. Tasty and chewy finish. Nice persistence.
