Château Le Pape 2019 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity, fresh and offers a little crunch as well as a certain little intensity. It reveals notes of juicy / crunchy cassis, crunchy raspberry and more slightly violet associated with saffron, pepper as well as a discreet hint of spices. The palate is fruity, balanced, discreetly tight, tense, well-structured and offers juiciness, a tangy frame, crunchiness, suavity, a little unctuosity as well as freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crunchy / juicy raspberry, small crunchy / juicy red currants and more slightly crunchy blackberry associated with touches of violet, lily as well as hints of chocolate / cocoa and a subtle hint of toasted almond. Tannins offer a subtle chewiness. Good length.
