The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is concentrated, juicy, with complexity and fresh fruitiness. It expresses notes of red cherry, morello cherry, crushed blackberry, wild strawberry and black plum, associated with herbaceous aromas (peppermint, menthol, fresh tobacco), sweet spices (liquorice, ground cumin, cardamom), slightly toasted hazelnut and violet, as well as a sappy hint which appears on the second nose. The palate is tight on attack, with drying tannins, softened at the end by a salivating acidity and a gourmet touch of dark chocolate and chocolate prunes. We also find flavors of juicy morello cherry, wild strawberry, black plum, bigarreau cherry, blackcurrant, chocolate cherry and sweet spices (vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, cardamom and liquorice), as well as just a touch of torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut) and a touch of peony. The finish is persistent, sapid and gourmand, but a bit dry due to young, gripping tannins and a chalky minerality. The acidity is lively and salivating, good bitterness on the finish. A tight and firm wine, but with good concentration.
