Château le Chatelet 2022 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

Château le Chatelet 2022 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is pretty, frank, with freshness, and a nice racy character with a nice peppery component. We find notes of violet, fresh tobacco and, small notes, small wild black berries, associated with touches of black pepper, cornflower as well as fine, almost berry-like hints of juniper and sweet spices. The palate is fruity, fresh, and has a beautiful minerality. It offers a fresh and mineral frame, with suppleness, a little tension and a beautiful accuracy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy and juicy cherry, mellow blackcurrant, and, small notes, blueberry, associated with touches of elegant roasted red berries, a hint of sage, tobacco, as well as fine hints of sweet pepper and spices. Beautifully crafted and gourmand, this wine presents sapidity and gourmandise in the background, with a slight chewiness. Tannins are mellow, and the fruit offers brightness and harmony. The texture is elegant, airy and subtly creamy.
