The nose is fruity, ripe and reveals some power, fine intensity and a fine, powerful grain. There are hints of pulpy/juicy cherry, pulpy/juicy blackberry and more lightly bright blue berries combined with hints of blueberry, smoke, camphor as well as very fine hints of star anise, a very discreet hint of pepper and an imperceptible hint of almost orange peel (in the background). The palate is fruity, juicy, nicely acidic and offers tension, energy, suavity, roundness, a racy minerality, density and concentration. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, bright cherry and slightly brighter redcurrant notes combined with hints of pulpy/acidic blue berries, tonka bean, fresh blond tobacco as well as fine camphor, a very discreet hint of pepper (in the background) and almond. The tannins are sapid and gourmet. Good length. A fine hint of cocoa in the background.
