Château Le Caillou 2020,Pomerol

On the nose, slightly tight and offers power as well as intensity. It reveals notes of ripe/fresh blackcurrant, raspberry and subtle notes of crushed black berries associated with a touch of strawberry, dark chocolate, zan, fine black tea and discreet wasps of pepper. On the palate, fruity and offers juiciness, sweetness, freshness, nice definition, a certain gourmandize, a mineral framework, some tension, a nice sweetness and roundness. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, bright blackberry and sublte touches of fleshy strawberry combined with hints of bright purple plum, licorice stick, cardamom, saffron, blueberry and fine dark chocolate. The tannins are precise and mildly soft and creamy. Good length. Well-managed bitterness on the finish (brings gourmandize and pep).
