The nose is fruity and reveals a certain racy power, a fine density/intensity, gourmandize and a slight creaminess. There are notes of crushed blackberry, bigarreau cherry and, more slightly, violet, combined with hints of strawberry, fine gravelly notes, a subtle hint of blond tobacco and a discreet touch of pepper. The palate is fruity and reveals minerality, a nice freshness, a mineral framework, gourmandize, a little tension, a fine structure and a fine straightness. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/fresh blackcurrant, bigarreau cherry and more lightly racy minerality combined with delicate touches of graphite, incense, red berries as well as fine floral hints (lily, fresh peony), liquorice, toast/chocolate and a subtle hint of vanilla. Good length.
