Château Larrivet Haut-Brion 2019 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity, spicy and offers a nice ripe / juicy fruit as well as a little peppery side. It reveals notes of bright cassis, small crushed red currants and more slightly crushed raspberry associated with touches of cornflower, lily, racy minerality, with fine hints of small tangy wild blue currants, pepper, saffron (floral side) as well as discreet hints of liquorice, sweet blond tobacco and a subtle “meaty” hint. The palate is fruity, balanced, structured and offers juiciness, a nice ripe/pulpy/juicy fruit, a little bright side, freshness, a nice delicate touch, straightness in finesse / elegance as well as an airy side in its richness. Subtlety in the richness of the fruit. A grain of finesse. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy / juicy blackberry and raspberry associated with touches of fairly small ripe red fruits as well as hints of chocolate and toasted almond.
